Installation
The
Meter Heater
Developed
by a water service professional. Fits all meters. Made in the USA.
Patent Pending.
The Meter Heater is focused on doing two things: It is a product that
is safe and easy to use AND it saves time and money for both water
service professionals and homeowners alike.
Installation
Generally
speaking, the water meter is owned and maintained by the local water
department. There are two types of meters: the gauge meter is round and
features dials and gears; the digital meter allows the meter reader to
walk or drive by the residence and read the meter remotely. To begin
the installation, you must first locate the water meter itself.
This is a sample of an in-ground meter. Water meters are generally
found in the ground near the front sidewalk. Remove the meter lid using
caution. A shovel blade tipped under the edge may be needed to lift the
lid. If the meter gets frozen, the water will not flow adequately
within the residence. Pipes may freeze, causing catastrophic damage,
but this another issue. Today we are focusing on frozen meters.

This photo shows The Meter Heater
as it should be assembled. The hook and loop fastener on the sides are
designed to hold the unit securely around the meter. Near the bottom
corners are the access points where the pipes protrude from the meter.

Warmer securely positioned in the pocket. The Warmers provide quick and
long-lasting heat. This is how the inside of the unit appears prior to
it being placed around the base of the meter. Slide the unit under the
meter (pocket facing the front) and bring it upward along the sides.
The warming packet should be located under the meter itself. Bring up
both front and back sections of the unit so that the sides are visible.
Attach hook and loop fasteners along either side.
